New York, New Perspective
Monday, April 16, 2012
During my trip in New York City, I did a photoshoot of two of my friends who went with me. It was interesting to see the different textures of the walls in New York that are not found here in Dallas. Also, this is my first photoshoot of a guy and I think it turned out successfully. The first image (on top) was taken right outside the High Line, a park built on railroad tracks. And the second image (on bottom) was taken while frantically walking through Chelsea Market. These were the only pictures I took of people in this type of setting, the rest were scenery. I hope to continue these photoshoots--playing more with light and shadows, and taking pictures of different people.
Girl in Headlights
Saturday, April 14, 2012
I did a photoshoot recently that is unlike any other that I have done. This is my first time taking pictures of a girl at night. The meaning behind this photograph is also more in depth then I usually do. The title "Girl in Headlights" is based off of the common phrase, "Deer in Headlights," symbolizing a deer caught in front of a car, timid and afraid. Using antlers from real deer, I wanted to incorporate the emotions of the deer through a girl in front of car headlights. It symbolizes how sometimes a girl is caught in the headlights and is hesitant and afraid of what to do.
